El RENOMBRADO PRODUCTOR SEBASTIÁN KRYS RECIBIRÁ EL CHAMPION AWARD DURANTE LA CEREMONIA DE LOS PREMIOS LATINOS BMI EL MARTES, 19 DE MARZO EN BEVERLY HILLS

En el evento también se otorgará el Premio Presidencial de BMI a Mario Quintero Lara de Los Tucanes de Tijuana y se reconocerá a destacados compositores, editoras y administradores de la música latina

LOS ÁNGELES, CA. (4 de marzo de 2019). – BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) se enorgullece de otorgar a Sebastián Krys el Champion Award durante la 26^a edición de los Premios Latinos de BMI. El galardonado productor recibirá el reconocimiento por su excelencia musical y numerosos esfuerzos filantrópicos. Como se anunció anteriormente, Mario Quintero Lara de Los Tucanes de Tijuana recibirá el PremioPresidencial de BMI, y también se reconocerán a destacados compositores, editoras y administradores de música latina durante la noche. El evento privado, presentado porMike O’Neill, presidente y director ejecutivo de BMI, y Delia Orjuela, vicepresidenta del departamento Latino de BMI se realizará el martes 19 de marzo, en el Beverly Wilshire Hotel en Beverly Hills, CA.

 

El Champion Award es un reconocimiento a quienes demuestran una excepcional habilidad artística y por su compromiso con la filantropía. Con este premio, Krys pasa a ser el primer productor que recibe este galardon y se suma a: Residente, Mark Ronson, los compositores Laura Karpman, Miriam Cutler, Lolita Ritmanis, Keith Urban y el congresista Doug Collins (R-GA-9), recepetores del honor.

 

“Sebastián Krys no solo es un productor pionero, sino que también es un humanitario”, dijo Delia Orjuela, vicepresidenta del departamento Latino de BMI. “El proyecto Los Producers es un reflejo de su pasión y testimonio de su inagotable dedicación al servicio de los demás. Por medio de este evento anual, ha recaudado fondos para una gran variedad de causas, que van desde catástrofes naturales hasta la educación. Estamos muy emocionados de celebrar a un verdadero campeón y su apoyo continuo a la creación y producción de música, que nos inspira a todos”.

Tras más de una década de exitosa carrera en la industria, Sebastián Krys ha producido más de 300 álbumes y trabajado con una gran variedad de artistas, incluyendo a Elvis Costello, Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Vives, La Santa Cecilia, Luis Fonsi, Camila, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias entre otros. El reconocido productor ha ganado múltiples premios GRAMMY y Latin GRAMMY, incluida la codiciada distinción de Productor del Año en el 2007 y 2015. Krys se dedica actualmente a su más reciente proyecto, Rebeleon Entertainment, una empresa de entretenimiento musical concentrada en desarrollar artistas, productores y compositores, así como proyectos especiales.

Más allá de su trabajo en el estudio de grabación, Krys es el creador de Los Producers, un concierto benéfico realizado anualmente durante la semana del Latin GRAMMY en colaboración con BMI, que actualmente se encuentra en su octavo año. El evento privado, ha incluido presentaciones musicales por las superestrellas Luis Fonsi, Juanes y Nelly Furtado, entre otras. Con el transcurso de los años, este evento ha recaudado cientos de miles de dólares para obras benéficas como la fundación de Los Ángeles en México, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation y la fundación Help Me Rebuild La Perla. Además de su labor con Los Producers, Krys recientemente fue reconocido por Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA) como la Estrella en Ascenso 2018 por sus extensos logros como productor.

 

Durante el evento se reconocerán a los compositores, editoras y administradores de las canciones latinas más tocadas del año pasado en Estados Unidos. Además, se otorgarán los premios BMI a Canción Regional Mexicana, Canción de Música Latina Contemporánea, Editora y Compositor del Año.

LOS ANGELES, CA. (March 4, 2019) – BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is proud to honorSebastian Krys with the BMI Champion Award at the 26th Annual BMI Latin Awards. The multiple award-winning producer will receive this award in recognition of his musical excellence and numerous philanthropic efforts. As previously announced, Mario Quintero Lara of Los Tucanes de Tijuana will receive the BMI President’s Award, and the top Latin songwriters, publishers and administrators will also be recognized throughout the night. Hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President of Creative, Latin Music Delia Orjuela, the private event will be held onTuesday, March 19 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

 

The BMI Champion Award honors those who have demonstrated exceptional artistry as well as a commitment to philanthropy. In receiving this honor, Krys becomes the first producer to be awarded this accolade and joins previous BMI Champion Award recipients Residente, Mark Ronson, composers Laura Karpman, Miriam Cutler Lolita Ritmanis, Keith Urban and Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA-9).

We look forward to celebrating everything that makes Sebastian a true champion including his ongoing support for the art of recorded music, which inspires us all.”

Throughout his decade-long tenure in the industry, Sebastian Krys has produced more than 300 albums and has worked with an array of artists including Elvis Costello, Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Vives, La Santa Cecilia, Luis Fonsi, Camila, Gloria Estefan, Shakira and Enrique Iglesias, among many others. The decorated producer has won multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY awards, including the coveted Producer of the Year title in 2007 and 2015. Currently, Krys is focusing on his latest venture, Rebeleon Entertainment, a music entertainment company that concentrates on developing artists, producers, songwriters, and special projects.

Outside of the recording studio, Krys created Los Producers, an annual charity concert held during Latin GRAMMY week in collaboration with BMI—now in its eighth year. The invite-only event has featured performances by superstars Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Nelly Furtado, among others. Throughout the years, this event has raised several hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities such as the Los Angeles En Mexico Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation and Help Me Rebuild La Perla Foundation, among others. In addition to his work with Los Producers, Krys was recently recognized by Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA) as the 2018 Shining Star Honoree for his extensive accomplishments as an award-winning producer. 

 

Throughout the evening, BMI will also salute the songwriters, publishers and administrators of the past year’s most-performed Latin songs in the United States. The BMI Regional Mexican Song, BMI Contemporary Latin Song, Songwriter and Publisher of the Year will also be named during the ceremony.
